Stuff everyone should know
Nearly everyone has an agenda and preconceived ideas of what's right and wrong. As much as you'd like to protest that you're unbiased and objective - I don't believe you
I'm biased - I know it. If you don't like it, go read something else!
What I like to try and do from time-to-time is to consciously separate myself from that bias, and try to apply rational facts to my thinking. Maybe sometimes it works? Maybe not..
Below is a collection of links to articles, blog posts and studies - generally with a biased introduction by me ;)
Concepts you SHOULD know and WHY they matter to you (in order of priority)
- Confirmation Bias
- Selectivity, Sensitivity: Their effect on "results"
- The Exponential Function: Peak Oil, Peak Population, Peak Anything!
- Cognitive Dissonance & Dissonance Reduction: "I don't like it"
