Who are the Candidates in Each Electorate

I'm ashamed to admit, I'm 33 years old, and have been voting for over a decade, but never before have I really stopped to think about who could be representing me.

For me it's always been a simple "pick the party" decision. I'd always wait till I got to the polling both, grab a how-to-vote card off a grey haired old lady, some fat guy, or some kids who'd rather be somewhere else, then just fill in the boxes like a political chimp just itching to get out!

I reckon it's a better idea to get in touch with the people who are running in your electorate, check the AEC website for details in your electorate!

You might notice that we're electing members to the House of Representatives, and the Senate.

House of reps is easy, you number 'em in order of preference:

Senate votes are a lot more confusing, you can either vote for a whole group or party by putting a "1" above the line, or you can number ALL of the boxes under the line:
AEC How-To for the Senate: http://www.aec.gov.au/Voting/How_to_vote/Voting_Senate.htm

Most people can't be arsed filling out under the line, but this is what I am going to do - I'll number every box, even though there's SOOO many of the damn things!

I suspect there are some very interesting people running. I think they all deserve to be voted for.
