If you're so inclined, you might want to send the same questions to the candidates in your electorate, and let me know what responses and discussions you get in to! It would be very interesting to see the differences!
You can obviously spam the Senate candidates too, but we'll all be spamming the same questions, so I'd suggest it'd be counter productive - I'll post stuff here when I get responses.
The Email:
Hello,
I'm a 33 year old male, business owner (we have 7 staff), "above average" household income (dual income no kids), long term partner. I live in The Gap (Brisbane).
I would like a simple for/against response to:
1) Hardening up Border Protection Laws
2) The Internet Filter
3) A Price on Carbon / ETS
4) Gay marriage
I assume most of you will respond on 'party lines' but I'd like to
know if I vote for you.. How you would vote if a division was called
in parliament, and what you'd be prepared to cross the floor for.
I can delve in to your reasoning behind your policies at another time,
and don't particularly care for a prepared statement - if you care to,
please respond with "for" or "against".
Thanks,
ObM.
Obviously, input your own name and demographics! :)
"OOOH! Do mine, DO MINE!"
If someone is particularly interested in me emailing their candidates, let me know your electorate and if I get time, I'll give it a go!
Cheers!
ObM
Just to let people know.
ReplyDeleteI have sent out the above email to my electorate of Brisbane (Qld). I will send the responses to ObM for everyone to enjoy.
Regards,
Pasodoff
Thanks heaps Mr Pasodoff!
ReplyDeleteIt will be really interesting to see how candidates in different electorates engage!
One of the candidates in our area, is super keen. He's been very active in getting in to a political dialogue with me.. I'll post results of that too!
Cheers,
ObM
